Why
PCR gel performance is fundamentally superior over traditional submarine gel
electrophoresis?
In
6mgel, the patented high speed PCR gel electrophoresis, electrodes contact PCR gel directly so that running buffer is eliminated.
PCR gel body is
immersed under deionized water instead of running buffer.
This simple
change gains surprised
advantages:
Deionized water, an
electric insulator, suppresses electric current to prevent massive heat
generation so that the water volume can be added as much as desire.
Water, the most potent
coolant, absorbs heat from gel body efficiently and evenly so that
straight banding across the entire PCR gel is achieved.
Much higher voltage,
such as 250V, can be applied to drive rapid sample migration. Sample diffusion is
substantially reduced during PCR gel electrophoresis.
Due
to less electric current, the required buffering capacity of running buffer
is substantially reduced. It means over 70% of buffer consumption can be
saved.
There
is a "sample stacking" effect when loaded samples running from
wells into PCR gel body (just like stacking gel in vertical PAGE gels).
