for 3 Liters of 5X TBE buffer,

162 g Tris base
82.5g Boric acid
60mls 0.5M EDTA (pH 8.0)

The advantage of 5x TBE buffer is its longer storage time than 10x TBE buffer.

But 5x TBE buffer takes large container and space.
